At first we had been searching for the location of the Lebanese festival, but our search turned into a trip to the past. He told me of that one mall, which was popular in its time. Now, weeds grow in the cracks of the parking lot. All that's left is a carpet outlet. He told me of climbing the cemetary fence. He told me about the big rat hole. They would drag the trash cans around. I saw his old home. He hadn't been there for nearly thirty-nine years.

I volunteer there because it's the church I attend Mass at.
